ASSESMENT POLICY FOR SESSION 2017 - 18

 

FOR BEGINNERS (PRE PRIMARY)

  • Classes Nursery, KG and Prep will get Performance Report THRICE in Academic Year i.e. August, November and March.
  • Promotion to the next class will be on the basis of the progress of the student and cumulative performance.
  • Performance will be marked in the form of GRADES. No Ranks shall be given.

  • Periodic Tests shall be conducted during routine school hours. Information regarding Periodic Tests schedule shall be communicated via Dairy Note.
  • Answer scripts of the Periodic Tests and Mid Term Examination will be handed over to the parents. However, answer scripts of Final Examination will be shown to the parents on written request only.
  • Internal Assessment will be on the basis of continuous performance which includes Copy Updation, Project/ Practical, participation in activities etc.
  • Tentative Dates for the above Schedule are as follows: -
    1. I Periodic Test             :           April 2017 (Last Week)
    2. II Periodic Test             :           August 2017
    3. Mid Term Examination :           October 2017
    4. III Periodic Test :           December 2017 (First Week)
    5. IV Periodic Test :           January 2018 (Second Week)
    6. Final Examination :           March 2018 (Tentative)
  • Detailed Syllabus for all Periodic Tests, Mid Term Examination and Final Examination shall be provided separately. However, in case of any change in the same, shall be notified via Diary Note.
  • Marks and Grades shall be shown in Marksheet, No Ranks shall be given. Criteria for Grades is as follows: -

  • The report of the Mid Term, Pre Board and Final Examination will be issued by the school at the end of each Term.

ASSESSMENT OF SPEAKING AND LISTENING SKILLS (ASL) (I – XI)

  • Assessment of Speaking and Listening Skills shall be carried out in the subject “English (I to VIII), English Communicative (IX and X) and English Core (XI)”, twice in each academic year as per the CBSE guidelines compulsorily.
  • The weightage of marks is as follows: -
    • Listening Skills – 10 Marks
    • Speaking Skills – 10 Marks
  • Speaking Skills shall comprise a set procedure of discussion of approximate 10 minutes and shall be recorded for each group of students and shall be sent to CBSE for evaluation.
  • Students remaining ABSENT during ASL shall be awarded ZERO marks towards ASL.
  • Any change as per CBSE directives shall be intimated as and when.

FOR FLYERS (IX – X)

  • The pattern of Examination: -
    1. For Class IX: Two Unit Tests of 25 Marks Each and Two Term Examinations of 100 Marks Each. Grand Total for Each Subject: 250 Marks
    2. For Class X: One Unit Tests of 25 Marks and Mid Term Examinations & Pre Board Examination of 100 Marks Each. Grand Total for Each Subject: 225 Marks.
  • There is no provision for Re – Test for the students who remain absent during Unit Tests and Term Examinations. The absentees will be awarded ‘ZERO’
  • The Answer Scripts for all Unit Tests and Term Examination/ Pre Board Examination shall be shown only to students/ parents.
  • The report of the Mid Term, Pre Board and Final Examination will be issued by the school.
  • Any change in the scheme of assessment by CBSE shall be strictly followed. For updates can logon: cbseacademic.in

FOR SCHOLARS (XI & XII): -

  • The pattern of Examination: -
    • For Class XI: Two Unit Tests of 25 Marks Each and Two Term Examinations of 100 Marks Each. Grand Total for Each Subject: 250 Marks
    • For Class XII: One Unit Tests of 25 Marks and Mid Term Examinations & Pre Board Examination of 100 Marks Each. Grand Total for Each Subject: 225 Marks.

  • Re – test / Improvement in the Final Examination can be given in ONE subject only. Candidate failing in two or more subjects will be FAILED. The Re – rest will be conducted within one week of the declaration of the final result and the syllabus for which will be the same as that of the Final Examination.
  • Minimum pass percentage will be 33% (Separate in Theory & Practical Examination) in individual subjects as well as in aggregate. Promotion to the next class will be on the basis of Cumulative Result.
  • Project, Project Files, Practical Records must be thoroughly completed and evaluated by the concerned subject teacher before the Start of Examination.
  • Answer scripts of the Unit Test, Mid Term & Pre-Board Examinations will be handed over to the parents.
  • XII Class students are required to score minimum 35% marks in Pre Board Examination failing which they have to attend remedial classes up to February 15, 2017. Absentees shall be debarred from Board Examination.
  • Report of the Mid Term and Final Examination will be issued by the school for Scholars 1. For Scholars 2, report of Mid - Term and Pre Board Examination shall be issued by the school.
  • Any change of subject(s) for Scholars 1 (XI) only, shall be allowed only up to August 31, 2017. After this no application/request will be entertained.

EXAMINATION RULES

  • 75% ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSARY FOR ALL CLASSES TO APPEAR IN Each Term.
  • Though the syllabus is provided to the students, yet it is advised that before the commencement of examination, the course be ascertained. For classes IX to XII., the syllabus is available on CBSE website: cbse.nic.in
  • Although the Date Sheets for Examinations are provided in Student’s Diary, there could be a change in the same in unforeseen circumstances. The Principal has prerogative to change the time schedule of any test or examination towards unforeseen circumstances.
  • The students have to clear the School Dues, if any, for example Fees, Labs, Scouts/ Guide, NCC Library, Games etc. before they appear in the Final Examination failing which a student shall not be permitted to take the Examination.
  • a Student found using unfair means like use of scraps of paper, any writing on hand, pencil box, table etc. or bringing the text book with the intention of cheating, tearing of any page of the answer book, supplementary answer sheet etc or giving or taking help from the students will be penalized with the cancellation of the paper and no marks will be given in the paper thus cancelled. However, before taking any drastic step, the Principal, along with examination incharges will give enough chance to such a student to clarify his / her position for such an act.
  • The Graph Papers, Outline Maps, Log Tables etc. where ever required during Examination will be provided by the Examination Department.
  • After the declaration of Final Result, application for re – totaling (Classes I to IX and XI) @  ` 50/- per subject is to be deposited in the Office within 3 days. After this will not entertain such requests.
  • ` 100 will be charged for a Duplicate Report Card (for Classes I to IX and XI), if the original report card is lost / tampered with by the student / otherwise required.
  • The Medical Leave will be sanctioned exclusively by the Principal. In case of any doubt of genuineness of the medical, the decision of the Principal will be final and same will be communicated to the concerned.
  • In case of dire emergency or on medical ground, the re – examination will be held within a week after the completion of the Exam. Parents will be responsible to collect the Examination Schedule from the Examination Department. However, only those will be considered for re – examination whose medical or intimation reaches the school on the date or prior to the date of Examination. Defaulters in such cases will not be entertained.

 

GUIDELINES FOR BOARD REGISTRATION (CLASSES IX -  XII)

Students studying in Classes IX and XI are to be enrolled to CBSE for their respective Board Examination to be held in March 2019. Parents to note the following in this regard: -

  • The Name of Student, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name and Date of Birth shall be registered exactly as per the Transfer Certificate of Previous School and First Admission Form filled in by the parent at the time of Admission in this school. For any change in the details, must report & submit in written along with copy of valid document in School Office at the earliest possible. Any request for change in any particulars after Board Registration shall not be entertained and not be the responsibility of school.
  • AADHAR Number is required to be submitted. So, in case, AADHAR Card is not prepared so far, kindly obtain it at the earliest possible to avoid incom.
  • Mention of Mobile Number and E – mail Id are compulsory. Parents must intimate any change in the same immediately by sending an Application to Class Teacher.
  • No change in Student’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth shall be entertained in Class XI. For Registration of Class XI Students, Particulars will be taken from Class X Board Marksheet only.
  • Migration Certificate from the Respective Board is to be submitted, if Class X Examination is Qualified from any other Board other than CBSE.
  • Registration Fee/ Board Fee, as per CBSE rules, is to be submitted.
  • Subject Combination and other particulars must be thoroughly checked while filling in the Registration Form and while signing.
  • Caste Certificate/ Minority Certificate must be necessarily submitted with Registration Form failing which it will not be possible for School to enroll student’s in particular category. All such students shall be enrolled in GENERAL Category.
  • Registration Card, Admit Card must be kept safely till the Board Results are declared.
